Matching is such a great game for younger kiddos because it helps develop their memory, ability to focus and pay attention to detail. All three of my daughters went through a stage as preschoolers where they were obsessed with matching games. Even now, they still will pull out a matching game from time to time just to prove their memory is better than mine.

With fall quickly approaching, I decided to create a free fall matching game printable. This memory game has various fall images such as an acorn, sunflower, sweater, colorful leaves and more.

Supplies
- Fall Memory Game Printable
- Cardstock
- Printer
- Scissors
- Laminator
- Laminating Sheets
Directions
First, you’ll need to print off the fall matching game at the bottom of the post using cardstock like this. This is important because cardstock is thick and will make it so the image does not show through.
If you don’t have any cardstock like this on hand, you can try taping multiple sheets of paper together after you’ve printed so that you can’t see through the cards.

Next, you can laminate the fall memory game cards. Laminating the cards will allow you to reuse them in the future by preventing them from getting crumpled or ripped.
In order to laminate, you will need to place the fall memory game printable (before cutting) into a laminating sheet like this. Then, slide the laminating sheet through a laminator. Once the printable is laminated, you can cut out each memory card.

Once all 36 matching cards are cut out, you are ready to play!
How To Play
To play this fall matching game, you’ll first need to flip over every single card so you cannot see the picture. Then, mix them all up.
Next, arrange the cards into a grid so that there are 6 rows of 6.
Choose someone to go first (I like to let the youngest player go first and then continue clockwise). The player going first will pick two cards and flip them over. If the cards match, then that player gets to keep the pair and go again.
If the fall cards do not match, then they flip the cards back over, and it becomes the next player’s turn. The game continues until all cards have been matched up. Whoever has the most matches at the end wins the game!
