If you’re looking for a “You’ve Been Booed” printable sign, then you’ve come to the right place. This Halloween tradition is a fun way to spread kindness around your neighborhood.

Fall is nearly here, which means it is almost Halloween! If you’re anything like me, you’re already planning all the fun things you want to do this fall season. One of the things on my family’s list is to boo a neighbor (or two).
We’ve booed neighbors in the past and had a lot of fun doing it, so I created and am sharing with you a “you’ve been booed” printable.
In this post, you’ll learn everything you need to know about how to boo someone and get your free printable “You’ve Been Booed” sign.
This post is all about a You’ve Been Booed printable.

When To Send A Boo Basket
The perfect time to send a boo basket would be any time in October. If a neighbor has booed you, then try to boo someone else fairly soon after.
If you are starting the boo basket tradition, I recommend doing it at the beginning of October. This way, the chain can continue throughout the entire month and more families can be booed.
How To Boo Someone
If you’ve been booed, the first thing you need to do is make a copy of the “we’ve been booed” sign and instructions. Then, hang the “We’ve Been Booed” sign on your front door or window.
If you’re starting the “You’ve Been Booed” chain, then download my boo basket printable below and print it out. I have both an “I’ve Been Booed” and a “We’ve Been Booed” version.
If you are booing a family, then use the “We’ve Been Booed” version. If you are booing an individual, then choose the “I’ve Been Booed” version.
Afterwards, choose a neighbor or friend that you would like to boo and surprise. Then, pick up some boo basket gifts for them. Below you will find a comprehensive list of ideas to help give you some inspiration.
After you’ve decided which items you will be sending, then you can choose a bag or basket to put the items in. Some fun ideas for baskets include an orange Halloween trick-or-treat bucket, a paper bag, or a black cauldron like this!

Last year, we even found some fun “You’ve Been Booed” bags from Target’s Dollar Spot section.

Once you have your bag/bucket and Halloween gift items, then it is time to assemble the boo basket.
Assembling a Boo Basket
If you haven’t yet, download and print my free “You’ve Been Booed” printable at the bottom of this post. I recommend printing on cardstock like this because the door hanger holds up much better, but if you don’t have any cardstock, you can just print on regular printer paper.

Next, cut out the You’ve Been Booed instructions and the door hanger. Then, put both of them in the bag/bucket with the goodies. If you are using a bag, another option would be to tape it to the outside of the bag.
If you decide to tape it to the outside, then you may want to include another copy of the instructions. This way, the next person doesn’t have to try copying it with it taped to the bag.
Finally, after assembling your boo bag(s), you’re left with the best part: the delivery! My kids have so much fun with this.
Quickly and quietly place the boo bag on your neighbor’s or friend’s doorstep. Then, without being seen, make a quick getaway to keep the surprise alive.
Hopefully, the chain continues all month long so Halloween cheer and kindness can spread throughout the neighborhood!
