Summer break is nearly here, and if your kids are anything like mine, they are already counting down the days. On the last day of school, I like to play fun games and activities to celebrate another year of school complete.
This year, I have created a fun ice cream matching game. It is an easy game, that kids of all ages can play.

Supplies
- Ice Cream Matching Game Printable
- Cardstock Paper
- Printer
- Scissors
- Laminator
- Laminating Sheets
Directions
First, you’ll need to print off the ice cream matching game at the bottom of the post. You’ll want to use cardstock like this for printing so that the ice cream pictures don’t show through.
If you don’t have any cardstock like this on hand, you could try taping multiple sheets of paper together after you’ve printed so that you can’t see through the cards.

Next, I recommend laminating the ice cream memory game cards. This is something you’ll definitely want to do if you plan to play this game with younger children. It’ll also allow you to keep the cards and reuse them in the future.
To laminate the cards, simply place the ice cream memory game printable (before cutting) into a laminating sheet like this. Then, slide the laminating sheet through a laminator. Once the printable is laminated, cut out each memory card.

Once all 24 memory cards are cut out, you are ready to play!
How To Play
To play this ice cream memory game, first flip over every card so you cannot see the ice cream pictures. Then, mix them all up. Next, arrange them into a grid so that there are 6 rows of 4 or 4 rows of 6.
Choose someone to go first (I like to let the youngest go first and then continue clockwise). The player going first will pick two cards and flip them over. If the cards match, that player keeps the pair and goes again.
If the ice cream cards do not match, then they flip the cards back over, and it becomes the next player’s turn. The game continues until all cards have been matched up. Whoever has the most ice cream matches at the end of the game wins!
