If you are looking for a back to school bingo game, you’ve come to the right spot. This bingo game is a fun way to get your kids excited to head back to school.

Back to School Bingo

Summer is winding down, and the new school year is nearly here. If your kids are anything like mine, they are not ready for summer to end. To help get them excited about starting up school, I created a fun school-themed bingo game to play.

This back to school bingo can be played with a small or large group (up to 25) and is great for all kids heading to school, from preschoolers to teenagers and adults. Seriously, who doesn’t love bingo?!

So, whether you are a teacher looking for a fun first day of school activity or a parent looking for a game to play with your kids, this back to school bingo game is for you!

This post is all about a back to school bingo game.

Directions

At the bottom of this post, you will find the free printable back to school bingo game. This printable has 25 different bingo cards, as well as both small and large calling cards.

There will be two identical pages of calling cards. Cut out the individual cards on ONE of these. Then, as you are playing and calling out cards, you can cover it up on the uncut page and easily see which ones have been called.

If you’d rather use larger calling cards, you’ll find those on a separate free printable at the bottom of the post as well. You can download, print, and cut these out. These calling cards are great for playing with big groups, such as in the classroom, so that everyone can easily see the picture on the card.

Once you’ve downloaded and printed the back to school bingo game, I highly recommend laminating the bingo boards and calling cards. I use my Amazon Basics Laminator and Laminating Sheets to laminate all of the bingo game cards and calling cards.

If you don’t have a laminator, you’ll at the very least want to print using cardstock like this because regular printer paper will not hold up very well (especially if you’re playing with kids).

After you have your bingo game laminated, you are all ready to start playing!

How to Play Back to School Bingo

Once your game is set up and you are ready to play, hand out a bingo card to each player. There are 25 different bingo cards, which means you can play with up to 25 people.

Next, hand out bingo chips like these to everyone playing. You could also use some fun erasers like this as bingo chips. Then, have each player place a chip on the free space in the middle of the board.

Place all of the calling cards into a bowl and draw one out. When you draw a calling card, either tell the group the image on the card or show them the picture.

Each player will then check their bingo board for that picture. If they have the image on their card, they will cover it up with a bingo chip.

The first player to cover five in a row either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally yells BINGO.

They will then recite the images they have covered back to the card caller, and if all of their images have in fact been drawn, then they are the winner! If they have incorrectly covered something, then the game continues until there is a winner.

Once there is a winner have everyone clear their bingo board and start the game again.

To make the back to school bingo game even more fun, put together some small prizes for the winners!

Back to School Bingo Images
