Left Right Game Setup
Before playing the game you will need a small gift or treat for each player. There are a couple ways you can do this. You can either pick them up yourself or have each guest bring their own small gift. If you do that, make sure to have a price limit so some gifts are not way more expensive than others.
If you are just playing amongst your family, you can do various grinch themed prizes. You could also take a family outing to the store and give each person $10 to spend for the gift exchange. Then, wrap up the gifts.
This is also a great gift exchange game for kids either at family gatherings or as a holiday classroom activity!

Grinch Left Right Story

It was right before Christmas when the Grinch stood on Mount Crumpit. He looked right down at Whoville below and thought about the most dreadful day of the year. Christmas. There was only 1 day left until Christmas and he hated to think about all of the Whos opening their presents, eating their feast and singing those dreadful songs.
Right then, he knew he needed to stop Christmas from coming. So he went right back into his cave and came up with a plan to steal Christmas from the Whos. He made himself a red coat and dressed up like Santa and made his dog Max look like a reindeer.
He decided he would go down to Whoville on Christmas Eve, and right after Santa delivered all of the gifts, he would steal them and have Max haul them right back up the mountain.
Then, he thought, the Whos would wake up sad when there were no gifts left under their tree. Surely then, they would be too sad to sing their Christmas songs.
So that night, he and his dog Max headed right down the mountain to Whoville.
The Grinch climbed down the chimney and stole all of the Whos’ Christmas things. He stole wreaths right off of doors, gifts, Christmas trees, and even the food for the Who’s Christmas feast.
At one house, a little girl named Cindy Lou heard the Grinch and crawled right out of bed and came downstairs. She asked him why he was putting their tree right up the chimney. He told her he was taking it to fix a light and would bring it right back.
Then, he sent her right back to bed. When he finished stealing all of the Whos’ Christmas things, all that was left was a small crumb that was even too small for a mouse.
It was right before dawn when the Grinch finished up. He loaded the sled, and he and Max did their best to haul all the things up the mountain. When they reached the top, he was just about to dump the load right off the mountain when he heard a sound coming from below.
He listened closely, and to his surprise, all the Whos right down in Whoville were singing. He had taken their gifts, decorations, and trees, but that didn’t stop Christmas from coming. Right then and there, he realized that Christmas was about more than gifts and decorations.
Touched by the Christmas spirit he witnessed right before his eyes he knew that he had left his old, grumpy ways behind. They say the Grinch’s heart grew three sizes that day. After that, he returned the presents, decorations, and food right back where it belonged.
The Whos were delighted to have their things back, and they invited the Grinch to join them for dinner. He sat right down with them and was even given the honor of carving the Roast Beast!
