Are you looking for a Thanksgiving Day scavenger hunt for your kids? This is the best treasure hunt to entertain your kids while waiting for the Thanksgiving meal.

One of my kids’ favorite ways to get excited about a holiday is with a fun treasure hunt! In the past, I have created scavenger hunt clues for different holidays such as Halloween, Christmas, Easter, and more (you can check them all out here). These hunts have always been a hit with my kids.

With Thanksgiving nearly here, I decided to create and share with you a Thanksgiving Day scavenger hunt for kids. These scavenger hunt clues are pretty easy so even your youngest kids can play. Each clue leads to an indoor item found in most households such as a television remote, couch, mirror, and more!

This Thanksgiving Day scavenger hunt is sure to be a fun way to entertain your kids and keep them out of the kitchen while the feast is still cooking.

This post is all about a Thanksgiving Day scavenger hunt.

Supplies For The Thanksgiving Treasure Hunt

  • Thanksgiving Day Scavenger Hunt Clues Printable
  • Printer
  • Printer Paper (8.5×11)
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Thanksgiving Gift/Prize

Directions

At the bottom of this post, you will find the free Thanksgiving scavenger hunt. First, download and print this out using 8.5×11 printer paper.

Then, cut the clue cards out. It can be helpful to number the clues on the back as you cut them out. The order goes top left, top right and then down continuing to go left to right.

Putting the number on the clues helps your kids ensure they have found the correct card because some clues may be in the same room. I mistakenly did not number the clue cards for my kids on a previous hunt. While they still found the prize at the end, they missed half the clues.

After the clues are all numbered, set aside the first clue card, this one will not be hidden. Instead, you will give this to your kids when you are ready for them to start their Thanksgiving treasure hunt.

Scavenger Hunt Setup

Before the kids arrive for your Thanksgiving gathering you’ll want to hide the scavenger hunt clues.

When hiding the clues, you’ll start with the second one. This clue card will be hidden in the riddle’s location of the first clue (the couch).

Before placing the second clue on the couch, make sure to read the clue so you know where to put the third clue. This is because the clues you hide will always go to the location of the previous clue.

Continue doing this pattern until you get to the last clue. The last card says “You solved and followed every single clue. Now go to your spot at the table where a prize is waiting for you!” You then would place a prize for each child participating in the hunt on their chair at the dinner table.

When you go to hide the Thanksgiving Day scavenger hunt clues it may be helpful to pull this post up so you can see the order of the clues that I have listed out below.

*Some of the clues you’ll need to hang up such as on the mirror and window. You can either use scotch tape or some fun fall Washi Tape like this.
