Mother’s Day Poems
Here are the three Mother’s Day Poems you can choose from.
1. Mother’s Day Poem #1

This year for Mother’s Day, I made a special flower for you, because I am so thankful for everything you do. This flower is my handprint to freeze this moment in time, because it won’t be forever that they’ll leave my dirt & grime. So when I get older and grow up big and tall, just pull this keepsake out to remember when I was small.
2. Mother’s Day Handprint Poem #2

You teach me, hold me, and give me love and care. You feed me, bathe me, and brush my hair. All of these little things you do patiently for me. I know your love is helping me grow, into who one day I will be.
3. Mother’s Day Poem #3

You feed me, bathe me, and, brush my hair. Each day I grow because of your love & care. As I keep growing, I’ll learn to do these things. So when the time comes, I’ll be ready to spread my wings. Even though I won’t always need your help or be this small, I’ll forever need your love, even when I’m big and tall. So, keep this as a reminder for when I am all grown. I am who I am because of YOU and all of the love you’ve shown.
Mother’s Day Card Handprint Design
Determine which layout of the Mother’s Day handprint poem you’d like to use. If you plan to frame it in an 8×10 picture frame then go with the portrait printable. If you’d like to give it as a card then choose the landscape printable.
8×10 Mother’s Day Handprint Poem

One option for the Mother’s Day handprint craft would be to use the portrait design. Download and print the poem you’d like to use in this layout. Then, cut out around the border (the border is 8×10).
Next, squeeze some washable paint onto a paper plate and have your child stick their hand in it. Using a paint brush, evenly spread the paint around their entire hand making sure to get the palm and all of their fingers.
Then, carefully place their hand down on the printable. Lift their hand off the paper and wash the paint off of their hand. Next, let the printable dry. Once it is dry you can give it as is or help preserve it for her.*
*Preserving The Mother’s Day Handprint Poem
If you choose to use the 8×10 poem, I highly recommend doing something to preserve the keepsake gift. You can either laminate it or frame it using an 8×10 frame. This way it will be protected and can be saved and cherished for years.
If you would like to laminate it all you need to do is place the printable (after the handprint has dried) into a laminating sheet like this. Then run it through a laminator and it is complete and ready to gift!
If you’d like to frame it, there are so many different 8×10 frame options to choose from, like this adorable pink one. It would be perfect for this Mother’s Day handprint poem.
Mother’s Day Handprint Card

The other option would be to make a Mother’s Day card using the handprint poem. If you would like to use this, choose the landscape printable at the bottom of the post and choose which poem you’d like to use.
Then, when you go to print you’ll want to print front to back with the “Happy Mother’s Day” page being the first page and the poem you choose being the second page.
When printing you may need to toggle the short edge button when printing front to back to ensure one is not upside down. Then, you would fold the paper in half hamburger style and cut out around the border.
Next, squeeze some washable paint onto a paper plate and dip your child’s hand into the paint. Using a paint brush, evenly spread it around their entire hand. Next, carefully make a handprint on the front side of the card, under “Happy Mother’s Day”.
Let the paint completely dry. Then, on Mother’s Day have your child gift their handprint card to her.
