Summer is almost over, which means fall will be here before we know it. If you are anything like me, you are looking for fun fall-themed games and activities for you and your kids for when the season gets here.
In the past, I’ve created different fall activities such as fall scavenger hunts, a fall bingo game, an autumn word search and more! This year, I decided to make a printable fall word scramble.
On this printable fall word scramble, you must unscramble each fall related word to find the answer to the fall joke. It is sure to be a fun activity for kids!

Fall Word Scramble

Directions
The directions for this word puzzle are super easy. Just print off a copy of the printable fall word scramble at the bottom of this post and grab a writing utensil.
Then, try to unscramble the letters to figure out what the autumn word is. Once you have unscrambled all of the fall words, transfer the leaf letters to the bottom of the page in order.
Below you can see an example of how to do this word puzzle. The letters “KPMUPNI” do not spell a word, but the letters can be rearranged to spell the word “PUMPKIN.”
After solving that, you would write pumpkin in the boxes. In this example, you would then bring the letter “I” down to the bottom and put it in the corresponding leaf spot to help solve the answer to the joke.
Once you have unscrambled all of the words, you will be able to read the answer to the Fall joke at the bottom of the puzzle.
When to play this Fall Word Scramble?
This word puzzle can be done almost anywhere. You can do these at home, at the doctor’s office, in the classroom, or even in the car (it’s a perfect road trip activity if you are traveling this fall).
Coloring Page Word Scramble
One of the word scrambles included in the printable also doubles as a fall coloring page. While working to unscramble the words, you can color in the autumn pictures.
