As a mom to three young kids I have learned just how much kids LOVE treasure hunts. Really though, what is there not to love about solving clues and finding treasure.

After seeing how much my kids loved my first Easter treasure hunt I have since made one for Christmas and Valentine’s Day.

With St. Patrick’s Day nearly here I decided to create and of course share with you this fun themed treasure hunt. On this St. Patrick’s Day scavenger hunt, your child will solve 23 clues that lead them to various indoor items such as a table, shoes, coffee pot and more!

At the end of the the treasure hunt be sure to leave them a “treasure” of some sort. If you need some inspiration for treasure, I have some fun ones listed out below.

Your kids are sure to have a blast with this treasure hunt so don’t be surprised if they want to do another one. Don’t worry though, I have you covered for Easter in a couple weeks!

Directions

First, download the free St. Patrick’s Day scavenger hunt clues at the end of the post. Then, cut out each clue. It can be helpful to number the clues on the back. The order goes top left, top right, then work your way down continuing to go left to right.

For this scavenger hunt the only ones that have to go in a specific order are the first two otherwise they can go in whichever order you choose.

I’ve found that numbering is also helpful for the kids when they are doing the hunt so they can be sure they’ve found the right clue because more than one clue may be in the same room.

After all the clues are numbered and cut out, set aside the first one. This is the clue that says “It’s St.Patrick’s Day who’s up for some treasure hunt fun? If you’d like to join the hunt, the table is where you’ll find clue number one.”

This first clue you will not hide, rather you will give it to your kids to start the hunt.

Treasure Hunt Setup

To hide the clues, you’ll start with the 2nd clue. This clue will be hidden in the riddle’s location of the first clue (the table).

Basically, whichever clue you are hiding you place it in the location from the previous clue. For example, the third clue will go in the location from the second clue, the fourth clue will go in the location from the third clue etc. You keep doing this pattern until you get to the last clue.

Some of the locations you will need to tape the clue up like on a window. It can be fun to use some St.Patrick’s Day themed Washi Tape like this.

The last clue card says “Today just might be your lucky day. If you find the last clue where you go to lay.” You then would put whatever “treasure” you have for your child on their bed. You’ll probably want to put it under their blankets so they don’t see it when they are searching for other clues on the hunt.

I have the bed as the last location so that if you have multiple children they can do the treasure hunt together but then each of them can get their own treasure.

* To make life easier on yourself, I recommend pulling up this post when you go to hide the clues. That way, you can see the order of the clues and the answer to each one.
