Thanksgiving is all about thankfulness, family, and making memories! If you’re like me, one of the best parts of Thanksgiving is spending quality time with family. One of the ways my family loves to celebrate is by playing games together!
Every year, I like to create new Thanksgiving-themed games for us to enjoy. In the past, I’ve created a Thanksgiving Bingo, Thanksgiving Scattergories, Thanksgiving Charades and more!
This year, I decided to add a Thanksgiving Family Feud game to the collection. It’s a super fun and family-friendly game that is sure to get everyone laughing. Whether you are playing after Thanksgiving dinner or looking for a fun activity to keep everyone entertained, this game will surely bring the whole family together.

- Printer
- Printer Paper
- Cardstock
- Host Question Cards (included in the free printable)
- 3 Red X Cards (included in the free printable)
- Score Card (included in the free printable)
- Cover Cards for Each Player View Card (included in the free printable)
- Player View Cards (included in the free printable)
- Hook and Loop Dots
- Scissors
- Writing Utensil For Keeping Score
- Buzzer or object to grab when facing off
- Laminator (optional)
- Laminating Sheets (optional)
Thanksgiving Family Feud Setup
At the bottom of this post, you will find the FREE Thanksgiving Family Feud printable. In the printable, you will find host question cards, a score card, 3 red X cards, cover cards, and player view cards.
The first six pages of the printable are the host question cards. These need to be printed on cardstock so that you cannot see the answers through. They are smaller than the player view cards and are for the host to hold so they know which cover cards to remove during the game.
Once you’ve printed the host question cards, cut each one out. If you don’t have any cardstock, you could also tape the host cards onto construction paper.
Next, print off the scorecard and red X cards on regular printer paper. Then, cut out each of the three red X cards.
Next, print off the cover card page. You will need one copy of this page for every player view card you use. If you want to print off all 21 player view cards, then you will need 21 copies of the cover cards.
These (just like the host cards) will need to be printed on cardstock so that you cannot see the answers through.
The last 21 pages of the printable are the different Thanksgiving Family Feud player cards. These include different questions, along with answers and points. Print these off on regular printer paper.
If you don’t plan to use them all, then you can go through and choose the questions you want to use and just print those. Remember, you will need a copy of the cover cards for each player view card.
Once you’ve printed all the items for the game, you will need to laminate the player view cards and cover cards.
It is optional if you would like to laminate the red x’s/strikes. To laminate, all you have to do is place each page into a laminating sheet like this and run it through a laminator.
After everything has been laminated, cut out the cover cards.
Next, for each player view card, you will need to place a hook dot like this on the side of the question at the top. You will also need to put a hook dot on each of the empty colored boxes before the answers.
Then connect a loop dot to the top, sticky side up.
Next, line up the cover card on top and press down so that the loop dot sticks to the cover card.
This allows you to remove the cover card when a team guesses one of the correct answers.
Repeat this process for all of the player viewing cards.
How to Play Thanksgiving Family Feud
To play this game, form two teams of five players (or less). Have each team make a line.
To start each round, one player from each team will face off. Between them, place a buzzer or an object they can grab, such as a spoon, a tennis ball, or a water bottle.
Then, the host will read a question, and the first player to buzz in or grab the middle object gets the first chance to guess the number one answer to the question.
If the first player to buzz doesn’t get the top answer in the face-off, the other person gets a chance to answer and get the top answer. Whoever’s answer is higher gets to choose whether their team wants to play or pass.
Choosing to play means their team continues to provide answers (going down the line), attempting to get all of the answers before getting three incorrect answers/strikes.
Choosing to pass means the opposing team has to guess all of the correct answers before getting three strikes/incorrect answers.
If a team guesses all of the correct answers before getting three strikes, their team collects all of the points for that round. However, if a team gets three strikes, then the other team gets a chance to steal the points by giving any correct answer left on the board.
If the opposing team does not get a correct answer then the points that are shown will be given to the team that answered for that round.
Play five rounds so that each player gets a chance to do a faceoff. After five rounds, whichever team has the most points wins the game!
