- 6 Ingredients (eg: jellybeans, gummy worms, candy corn, candy fish, candy eye balls etc.)
- Container to put ingredients such as a plastic cauldron

Halloween Party Game Setup
To prepare the game, you will first need to figure out how many kids will be at the party. For this game, you’ll need to split the kids into team sizes of 3-4 kids.
Then, download and print the game at the bottom of the post. You will need a copy of the printable for each team. On the printable you will find a pregame message, a halloween witch’s code, and 12 ingredient cards written in code.
You will only need 6 of the ingredient cards, so you can choose which of the cards you want to use.

Do note that you will need the six ingredients on hand for the party, so consider that when choosing which cards to use. Below, I have listed all twelve ingredients and various items you could use for each one.

You will also need six colored plastic eggs for each team, with each team having a different color. For example, Team 1 can be orange, Team 2 can be purple, and Team 3 can be green.

Next, cut out the secret code ingredient cards for Team 1. Then, place one card in each of the orange eggs.

Repeat this for Team 2 and the purple eggs, and Team 3 and the green eggs. Make sure to use the same ingredient cards for all of the teams.

Once the eggs are filled with the ingredient cards you will hide them all around the party area. This game can be played inside or outside. Next, lay out all of the ingredients on a table.

Make sure you also set out a container for each team to place their ingredients in. I used black cauldrons like this, but you can use any container or bowl.

Now the game is setup and ready to play!
Witch’s Brew Ingredients
On the printable, you will find 12 different ingredient cards that you can choose from. For this game, you will need the actual ingredients, but you will only need 6 of the 12. This way you can have some options to choose from.
Below, I have listed the 12 different ingredients and some ideas you can use for each.
- Beans – You can use actual beans like pinto beans or coffee beans or a fun candy substitute like jelly beans
- Worms – Gummy worms are the best for this
- Eye Balls – For this, you could use gumballs like this or these candy eyeballs.
- Bones – You could use these non-edible resin bones or if you want a candy version, these would be fun
- Snake – These plastic snakes would work or if you are looking for a candy version, you could get these.
- Spider – Any plastic spider such as these would work.
- Fish – You could either use goldfish or candy fish like these.
- Corn – Candy corn is perfect for this one.
- Claws – Bugles look like the perfect claw.
- Bugs – You can either get a bag of plastic bugs or use these Annie’s gummy bugs
- Heart – You can use some resin hearts like these or some candy hearts.
- Teeth – These gummy teeth would be so funny for this.
How to Play the Witch’s Brew Recipe Game
When all of the kids have arrived split them into teams of 3-4 kids. Then, give each team a Witch’s code and a color (orange, purple, green). This is the color of the eggs their team must find. For example, if Team 1 is orange, then they must find all 6 orange eggs.
Once you have split the kids into teams and given them their color and code, read aloud the Witch’s Brew Pregame instructions to the entire group.

After the instructions are read, the teams will race to find their eggs. Once they have found all six of their colored eggs, they will open them up and decode the ingredients inside each egg using the witch’s code.

When the team has decoded all of their six ingredients, then they will go to the ingredient table. There, they will put the exact amount of each ingredient into a container such as these mini cauldrons.

When they have finished, they come to you to check if their witch’s brew is correct. The first team to bring the correct amounts of each ingredient wins! I have included the answer key in the printable so you can check that their ingredients are correct.
It can be fun to put together a small prize for the winning team.
