If you’re headed to the beach this summer with your kids then this beach scavenger hunt printable is for you. Your kids will have so much fun scouring the beach for these scavenger hunt items.
Summer is finally here and that means warmer weather and beach days. If your family is anything like mine then summer is not complete without at least one trip to the beach. Whether you are a frequent beach goer or you’re planning your next family vacation, this beach scavenger hunt printable is the perfect addition to your beach day.
While some kids could spend all day digging in the sand or playing in the water other kiddos may get bored much more easily. In order to keep the day enjoyable for all, this beach scavenger hunt printable is a great activity to have on hand in case your child needs something more to do.
This scavenger hunt is filled with items you’d typically spot at the beach such as sunscreen, beach towels, a seagull, and many more! Your child will have so much fun searching the beach to find every last item on this list.
This post is all about how to enjoy your beach day with a beach scavenger hunt printable.

Supplies
- Printer
- 8.5 x 11 Printer Paper
- Laminator/Laminating Sheets (optional)
- Vis-a-vis Markers (optional)
- Paper Towel or Dry Eraser
This beach scavenger hunt printable requires very minimal supplies!
Directions
First, you will need to print off the free beach scavenger hunt printable below. You could then take it as is to the beach. However, I highly recommend laminating the printable before taking it.
In my experience, no matter how careful I am, somehow everything still ends up getting wet or filled with sand while we are at the beach. If you laminate this printable it’ll prevent it from getting ruined if it gets wet or sand-covered. You just wipe it down with some paper towel and voila!
However, if you do not have a laminator I would not recommend buying one just for this scavenger hunt. Instead, just fold up the scavenger hunt and put it in a Ziploc baggy until you need to use it. You can also print off a few extra in case your child wants to do the hunt more than once.
If you do have a laminator then just place the beach scavenger hunt printable in a laminating sleeve and slide it through the laminator. Then, place the laminated scavenger hunt in your beach bag along with a Viz-a-viz marker to write with.
If you have a dry eraser you could also pack that but I would recommend just packing paper towel. It works just as well and also comes in handy for other things such as wiping faces and hands after lunch.

Free Beach Scavenger Hunt Printable
I have created a few beach scavenger hunt printables that you can choose from. I have a picture version for kiddos who cannot read yet as well as a list version for the older kids who can read.
These items may be very easy to spot at some beaches and challenging at others. If it looks like your kids might not be able to find some of the items just give them another item to find instead. I created a list below that has more beach scavenger hunt items you could give them instead.
I have also created a blank template beach scavenger hunt where you and your kids can come up with your own items to find on your next trip to the beach.
Free Beach Scavenger Hunt With Pictures
Feel free to download and print this beach scavenger hunt with pictures. This is great for toddlers and preschoolers who cannot read yet because there are pictures for each item. From seashells to seagulls, your kids will have so much fun searching for the items on this scavenger hunt.
Even better yet, they will love the independence that they can do the hunt without needing someone to read the items to them.

Blank Beach Scavenger Hunt
Here is the blank template beach scavenger hunt. I love this one because it gives your kids something to do on the car ride to the beach.
Just print off a copy of the printable for each of your children. Make sure to pack them a pencil or pen to write with. Also, it can be helpful to have something hard to write against while in the vehicle such as a clipboard or hardcover book.
Then, on the way to the beach let them brainstorm items that they may see at the beach. Once you arrive everyone can start looking for the items.
If your kids are competitive at all, they could make it a competition. Have them each fill out their own beach scavenger hunt with the items they think they will find. Then, once you arrive at the beach the first person to complete their own beach scavenger hunt wins!
