Halloween Memory Game

Memory is my three-year-old’s FAVORITE game which is why I’ve created a Valentine’s memory game and an Easter egg memory game this past year.

Well, with Halloween just around the corner, I figured I would create a Halloween memory game for my daughter and I to play (and of course share with you).

With this Halloween memory game, there are 12 different matches with different Halloween-themed pictures.

If your child likes the matching game then this is sure to be a fun Halloween game for you and your kids to play.

This post is all about a Halloween Memory Game.

First, you’ll need to print off the Halloween memory game at the bottom of the post. You will want to use cardstock like this for printing so that the image does not show through. If you don’t have cardstock on hand, you can always tape multiple sheets of paper together so you can’t see through.

Next, I highly suggest laminating the Halloween memory cards. This is especially helpful if you have young kiddos like me because it’ll allow you to reuse the cards and keep them from crumpling or ripping.

To laminate, all you do is place the printable (before cutting) into a laminating sheet. Then, slide the laminating sheet through a laminator. Once the printable is laminated then cut out each memory card.

Once you’ve cut out the 24 memory cards you are ready to play!

How To Play

To play this Halloween memory game you’ll need to flip over every card so you cannot see the picture. Then, mix up the cards.

Next, arrange the cards so that you have 4 rows of 6 or 6 rows of 4.

The grid setup should look similar to the picture below.

If you want more of a challenge feel free to spread the cards out randomly and not put them in rows and columns.

Once your memory game board is setup, choose someone to go first. I typically let the youngest go first and then continue clockwise.

The first player will choose two cards and flip them over. If the cards are a match then they get to keep the match and go again.

If the cards do not match, then they flip the cards back over and it is the next person’s turn.

The game continues until all of the cards have been matched up. Whoever has the most matches at the end of the game is the winner.
