The game memory is one of my favorites for toddlers and young kids. This game is not only fun for them but it is also educational by improving children’s recognition and recall skills.
Currently, my toddler has been obsessed with memory. We have this animal memory game and we play it almost daily. Because Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, I decided to make and of course share with ya’ll this Valentines memory game to play with our littles.
On this printable Valentine’s memory game there are 18 Valentine picture matches, so 36 cards in total. You and your child will take turns flipping two cards over and trying to get matches. The player with the most matches wins!
After playing a round of this Valentine’s memory game, don’t be surprised if your kiddo asks you to play again and again.
This post is all about a Valentine’s memory game.
Valentine’s Memory Game
Supplies
- Memory Game Printable
- Cardstock Paper
- Printer
- Scissors
- Laminator
- Laminating Sheets
Directions
At the bottom of the page download the Valentine’s memory game. Then, print off two copies of the printable (four total pages) using cardstock like this. If you don’t have cardstock, You may have to tape more than one sheet of paper together so that you can’t see through the cards when playing the game.

After you’ve printed the game, I recommend laminating them so the cards don’t get crumpled or ripped. If you’re looking for a laminator I recommend the Amazon Basics. It is a simple laminator but does the job well. I am still using the Amazon laminator I bought 5 years ago.

Laminating Sheets
To laminate you will stick the Valentine’s memory game into a laminating sheet like this and run it through your laminator. Once you have laminated all four sheets of the game, you’ll need to cut out each individual card. After you’ve cut out all 36 cards you are ready to play.
How to Play
First, flip over all the cards so you cannot see the picture on them. Next, mix up all the cards. Then, arrange the cards in 6 rows of 6. The setup should look like the picture below. It doesn’t have to be 6×6 but with 36 cards this works out perfectly.
If you are looking for an added challenge try spreading the cards out randomly and not putting them in rows and columns.
Once the board is setup, have someone go first. I usually let the youngest go first and then continue play clockwise. The first player will flip over any two cards of their choosing. If the two cards match then they get to keep the pair and go again.
If the cards they flip over do not match they turn them back over and it is the next player’s turn. Play will go until all the cards have been matched. The player with the most matches at the end of the game wins!
