Halloween is right around the corner and if you’re anything like me you’re preparing and looking for fun games and activities to play. Last Thanksgiving, I created would you rather cards that my kids had a blast answering.
This year, I decided to create these Halloween would you rather question cards. These questions make the perfect game to play at dinner, at a Halloween party, or even as a classroom activity.
With these free Halloween would you rather cards you’ll find fun questions to ask such as “would you rather get chased by a group of zombies or get chased by a werewolf?” that your family can answer and laugh about.

Supplies
- Printer
- Printer Paper (8.5 x 11) or Cardstock
- Scissors
- Laminator (optional)
- Laminating Paper (optional)

Directions
Download and print the free printable Halloween would you rather cards at the bottom of the post. Next, I highly recommend laminating the cards. This is especially important if they will be passed around at your Halloween party or if you are a teacher and would like to reuse them next year.
If you don’t have a laminator, you can also use cardstock to make them more sturdy than regular printer paper.
If you choose to laminate the cards, you can place the printable in laminating sheets like these. Next, slide the laminating sheets through a laminator. You don’t need a fancy laminator to do this, I have an Amazon Basics and it works great!
I’ve had mine for over five years now so they don’t still sell the exact version, but they do sell this newer model that looks pretty similar.

Once you have your cards laminated, cut them out and you are ready to play.
How to Play
There is no one specific way you have to play this Halloween would you rather game so I’ll give you a couple of fun options.
Option 1
The first way you could play is to have everyone gather around in a circle. Then, have someone draw a card and read it out loud.
Have everyone choose their answer and then see which one the majority thinks is better. Take turns reading the Halloween would you rather cards out loud. The best part of this game is the discussions and debates over why everyone thinks a certain answer is best.
Option 2
The second option is great for a classroom or kid’s Halloween party because it gets everyone up and moving. To play this version designate one part of the house or classroom for the left-side answer and then one part for the right-side answer of the card.
Read the card out loud and then play some spooky Halloween music. When the music stops, everyone chooses the answer they would rather have and goes to that designated spot in the house or class.
With this option, you can play with points. Each round, see which answer has the most people. The people who answered with the majority win a point for that round. Throughout the game everyone tallies up their own points and whoever has the most at the end of the game wins!

1. Get a king-sized candy bar or get 20 fun-sized candy bars.
2. Win a Halloween costume contest or win a pumpkin carving contest.
3. Listen to Monster Mash on repeat or listen to Ghostbusters on repeat.
4. Attend a Halloween party or host a Halloween party.
5. Get chased by a group of zombies or get chased by a werewolf.
6. Walk through an abandoned house at night or walk through a cemetery at night.
7. Tell scary stores or watch scary movies.
8. Walk into a cobweb or step in something slimy.
9. Turn into a vampire or turn into a werewolf.
10. Have the ability to see ghosts or have the ability to talk to ghosts.
11. Eat candy corn or eat a caramel apple.
12. Be a ghost hunter or be a grave digger.
13. Be friends with Frankenstein or be friends with Dracula.
14. Never celebrate Halloween or never celebrate your birthday.
15. Eat all of your Halloween candy in one night or eat your Halloween candy over the course of a month.
16. Be trapped in a room with spiders or be trapped in a cave with bats.
17. Have warts like a witch or have a cackle for a laugh.
18. Dress up as a superhero or dress up as a villain.
19. Have no candy for a year or have candy everyday for a year.
20. Be haunted by a ghost forever or have a nightmare every night for the rest of your life.
21. Keep all of your Halloween candy or sell your Halloween candy for $20.
22. Stay home and give out candy or go trick-or-treating.
23. Wear a store-bought Halloween costume or wear a homemade Halloween costume.
24. Have a witch’s nose or have werewolf fur.
25. Be part of a group costume or wear an individual costume.
26. It snow on Halloween or it rain on Halloween.
27. Wear an itchy Halloween costume or wear a Halloween costume that is too hot.
28. Get locked in a haunted house or get lost in a spooky forest.
29. Turn into a zombie or turn into a ghost.
30. Have a Hocus Pocus movie night or have a Casper movie night.
31. Have a monster under your bed or have a ghost in your closet.
32. Go trick-or-treating or go to a Halloween party.
33. Only get Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups or only get Kit Kats.
34. Go through a spooky corn maze or go on a haunted hay ride.

40. Know when you are going to die or know how you are going to die.
41. Only get suckers while trick-or-treating or only get sour candy while trick-or-treating.
42. Star in a scary movie or be the author of a horror story.
43. Go to an apple orchard to pick apples or go to a pumpkin patch and pick out a pumpkin.
44. Have the same costume as someone else at a Halloween party or have a costume that nobody understands.
45. Carve pumpkins or bake pumpkin pies.
46. Own a candy store or own a pumpkin patch.
47. Get a tattoo of a black cat or get a tattoo of a pumpkin.
48. Smell like pumpkin spice or smell like chocolate.
