Are you looking for some fun animal charades cards? Look no further, these cards are sure to be a hit on your next family game night.
It can be such a challenge finding enjoyable games to play as a family when you have younger kids like myself. Charades is a fun game that can be played by even the younger kids. However, there is usually a reading barrier that prevents younger kids from playing.
This is why I created and am sharing with you this fun animal charades game that even your non-reading kids can play!
With these animal charades cards there are pictures in addition to the words so your young kiddos can take part in the fun. These printable charade cards are also color coded into three different groups based on their level of difficulty.
This game is a great way to laugh and bond as a family.

Next, cut out all of the blue bordered animal cards. Fold each card in half and place them in a bowl. Repeat this process with the yellow and pink cards. Make sure to separate the three colored cards into three different bowls.
If you ever plan to play this game more than once you might want to laminate the charade cards and score sheet. To do this just put the printable into laminating sheets and run them through a laminator like this.

If you laminate the score card just use a wet erase marker like this to tally points so you can easily erase and play again.
How to Play
- Break up into two teams making them as even as possible.
- Decide how the winner will be determined prior to starting. Will you play until all of the charades cards are gone? Will you play X amount of rounds or will you go until everyone has had a chance to be the actor?
- Separate the cards based on their color, placing them into three different bowls. Each bowl is worth a different amount of points.
- Flip a coin and see which team goes first. This is Team 1.
- Team 1 will choose a player to act first. The acting player will draw a card from a bowl of their choosing. The higher the point card the more challenging the animal will be.
- Set a timer for 1 minute. Once the timer starts, the player can begin acting out what is on the card using only body gestures and motions. No vocal sounds are allowed.
- If Team 1 guesses the card correctly before the timer runs out, then they receive the point(s) for the card and the round is over. If they do not correctly guess the card before the timer runs out then Team 2 is allowed one guess to steal the points. Write down the points using the score card
- Now, Team 2 will choose an actor and repeat this process.
- Play until a winner has been determined (the way you established BEFORE starting).
*If you are playing with young children you may want to consider allowing them to use sounds until they can get the hang of the game.
