How to Play The Alphabet Road Trip Game

This alphabet game is super simple and can be played in a couple of different ways. I recommend downloading and printing off both printables at the bottom of the post so you can play it both ways.

Then, designate someone to be the writer to keep track of what you’ve found. You can also print off copies for each person and see who can finish theirs first.

I recommend bringing a dry-erase sleeve like this to stick the printable in, along with a dry-erase marker and paper towel. That way, you only need one copy and can play it as many times as you’d like.

Option 1

The first way to play the alphabet road trip game is to search for the letters of the alphabet. Start with the letter A and use signs, billboards, license plates, etc. to see if you and your family can find the letter. Once you’ve found it, check it off on the printable and move on to the letter B.

Keep working your way through the alphabet until you have found all 26 letters. After you finish, play it again but this time try doing the alphabet backwards.

Option 2

Another way to play the alphabet scavenger hunt game is to search for an item that starts with each letter. In this version, instead of looking for the letter itself, you would search for an item that starts with that letter. For example, for the letter G you could write grass and for the letter S you could write semi.

Depending on your kids’ ages you can choose to make it easier by doing the letters in any order or you can make it more of a challenge by doing it in order.

If you happen to get stuck on a letter you might have to get creative. For example, the letter Y you could write yellow line on the road.
